Studying for and taking the exam does not have to be a monster to battle!

Like you I was overwhelmed at first by how much there was to study for the National Counselor Exam (NCE). I do not have a photographic memory and I used every trick I could find to get the information in and for it to stick into my 50+ year old brain. Now that the exam is behind me, I am just as committed to seeing others pass it successfully and as painlessly as possible! In fact, it actually is fun to help others really “get something” that was foreign to them, to find ways to not panic during the test or to create a real possibility that they WILL meet their goal of being licensed. I launched the tutoring services in 2006 as a complement to my private practice as a psychotherapist and the impulse to teach continues to this day. After graduation, I returned to my alma mater, Naropa University, where I am delighted to work as an adjunct instructor in the counseling graduate program. I have been teaching for over 25 years and I hope to be doing the same in the next 25.
