Lauralee Petree MS, LPCC
"The best way to predict the future is to create it."  Peter Drucker
My given name  is Lauralee, but please feel free to call me Laura!  I have many professional passions but at the heart of all of them is to help my clients succeed and reach their goals so that they can go out and use their talents to make this world a better place! Specifically, I love working with people who have not been successful in passing the NCE or NCMHCE the first time because I KNOW that it can be done with the right strategies, guidance, and awareness of the strengths that they do possess to do their very best! I also love basketball and spending time with my family especially my two little girls!

Studying for and taking the exam does not have to be a monster to battle!
Like you I was overwhelmed at first by how much there was to study for the National Counselor Exam (NCE). I do not have a photographic memory and I used every trick I could find to get the information in and for it to stick into my 50+ year old brain. Now that the exam is behind me, I am just as committed to seeing others pass it successfully and as painlessly as possible! In fact, it actually is fun to help others really “get something” that was foreign to them, to find ways to not panic during the test or to create a real possibility that they WILL meet their goal of being licensed. I launched the tutoring services in 2006 as a complement to my private practice as a psychotherapist and the impulse to teach continues to this day. After graduation, I returned to my alma mater, Naropa University, where I am delighted to work as an adjunct instructor in the counseling graduate program. I have been teaching for over 25 years and I hope to be doing the same in the next 25.
